1997 Civic Type R Tune List

+Tire Pressure

  • Front: 28.0 PSI
  • Rear: 28.0 PSI

Setting your tire pressure to 28.0 PSI keeps your tires flat on the road, giving you reliable grip for accelerating, braking, and steering.

+Alignment

Camber

  • Front: -1.8
  • Rear: -1.0

Toe

  • Front: 0.1
  • Rear: 0.0

Front Caster

  • Angle: 6.5

Adding extra front negative camber and a bit of front toe-out helps the front tires turn into corners quickly, stopping the FWD car from pushing straight (understeering).

+Antiroll Bars

  • Front: 15.00
  • Rear: 45.00

Soft front and stiff rear anti-roll bars help the back end of the car rotate, balancing your handling and helping the car turn much easier.

+Springs

  • Front: 450.0 LB/IN
  • Rear: 600.0 LB/IN

Ride Height

  • Front: 5.0 IN
  • Rear: 5.0 IN

Using stiffer rear springs forces the back of the car to follow your steering, while lowering the ride height to 5.0 inches lowers your center of gravity to reduce body roll in corners.

+Damping

Rebound Stiffness

  • Front: 11.5
  • Rear: 9.0

Bump Stiffness

  • Front: 4.8
  • Rear: 3.8

Stiff front bump stiffness stops the nose of the car from diving under hard braking, keeping the car stable and preserving rear braking grip.

+Brake

  • Balance: 50%
  • Pressure: 100%

+Differential

  • Acceleration: 55%
  • Deceleration: 0%

Setting acceleration to 55% pulls the car out of corners when you hit the gas, while 0% deceleration lets the back end swing around easily to help you turn when you let off the throttle.
