AFK Journey Berial Guide

Berial is an Assassin who is really good at immunity himself by hiding in the shadow and won't take any damage, deals high damage, can absorb energy, and will revive back when a non-summoned enemy is taken down.

Berial Skills Guide

Berial has 6 skills that require you to unlock by leveling up your character.

Ultimate - Scared Swamp

This skill unlocks at level 1, has 0s cooldown, 10-tile range, and requires 0 Initial energy.

Skill Detail: Berial flies beneath the enemy, hiding within their shadow and dealing 36% damage every 0.25s, absorbing 15 energy, lasting 5s.

Berial gains control immunity and cannot be targeted during the effect. Then he jumps out from the shadow, dealing 320% damage to adjacent enemies and frightening them for 4s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 51: Deals 38% damage to enemies 0.25s when hiding in the shadow.

Unlock at level 111: Deals 40% damage to enemies 0.25s when hiding in the shadow.

Unlock at level 171: Deals 42% damage to enemies 0.25s when hiding in the shadow.

Unlock at level 231: Deals 45% damage to enemies 0.25s when hiding in the shadow.

1st Skill - Shadow Trick

This skill unlocks at level 11, with a 20s cooldown, and has a 10-tile range.

Skill Detail: Berial hides within the shadow, during which he gains control immunity and cannot be targeted. If isolated enemies exist, Berial moves toward every isolated target one by one, dealing 300% damage.

Otherwise, he hides in the shadow, recovering 300% HP in total, then returning to his original tile.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 71: Increases the damage dealt to the isolated targets to 310%.

Unlock at level 131: Increases the damage dealt to the isolated targets to 320%

Unlock at level 191: Increases the damage dealt to the isolated targets to 350%

2nd Skill - Devil's Combat

This skill unlocks at level 31, with a 0s cooldown, 1-tile range, and the skill can be enhanced.

Skill Detail: Berial hides within the shadow for 10s after being defeated. However, during which, if a non-summoned enemy is taken down, Berial will revive from the vanquished enemy and return to the battlefield with 40% of his max HP. This effect can only be triggered once per battle.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 91: Increases Berial's restored HP to 45% of his max HP after revival.

Unlock at level 151: Increases Berial's restored HP to 50% of his max HP after revival.

Unlock at level 211: Increases Berial's restored HP to 60% of his max HP after revival.

Enhancement: Berial increases the duration hidden in shadow by 10s after being defeated.

Hero Focus

Berial reduces the damage dealt by an isolated enemy by 6% and increase their damage taken by 3%.

Level 2: Berial reduces the damage dealt by an isolated enemy by 8% and increase their damage taken by 4%.

Level 3: Berial reduces the damage dealt by an isolated enemy by 10% and increase their damage taken by 5%.

Ex. Skill - Shadow Reflection

This Exclusive skill can unlock after reaching Mythic, with a TBD cooldown, and 10-tile range.

Skill Detail: If non-summoned enemies remain isolated for over 3s, they lose 180 energy and generate a Silhouette that inherits 50% of Berial's ATK, HP and 100% of other stats.

This Silhouette loses 8% of its max HP per second. This effect can only be triggered once on the same target within 20s, and the Silhouette can only deal damage by normal attacks.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +5: The Silhouette inherits 70% of Berial's ATK and HP.

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +10: Enemies lose 40 Energy when they receive damage from the Silhouette.

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +15: The Silhouette inherits 80% of Berial's ATK and HP.

Enhance Force

You can unlock Enhance Force after reaching Supreme.

Affect of Skill 2: Increase the hiding duration after being defeated by 10s.

Berial Pros & Cons

• Survivability: Berial has unique survival tools. "Shadow Trick" provides temporary invulnerability, and "Devil's Combat" gives him a pseudo-revive on certain conditions.
• Invulnerability Phases: His ultimate "Sacred Swamp" and parts of "Shadow Trick" make him untargetable for significant durations.
• Isolation Targeting: He focuses on isolated enemies, making him potent against stragglers or teams that get separated.
• Disruption: Berial has both hard crowd control with "Scared Swamp"'s fear effect and energy drain abilities with his Exclusive Skill.
• Damage Potential: His damage skills do significant burst damage if he catches an isolated foe.
• Silhouette: The Silhouette from his Exclusive Skill offers added damage and disruption potential.

Cons

• Conditional: Berial's effectiveness is highly dependent on isolating enemies. If the enemy team clumps, he loses much of his value.
• Cooldowns: His key survival skills have moderate cooldowns, so timing is key.
• Reliance on Ultimate: A lot of Berial's damage output hinges on his ultimate landing well.
• fragility: While he has ways to evade death, he's not built to tank damage and can be burst down.
• Specific Team Needs: Berial benefits greatly from allies who can force separation or clump up enemies.
