Brutus Tier

Brutus is a disruptive tank who excels at soaking up incredible amounts of damage and punishing teams that try to focus fire him down. He relies heavily on setup from his team and timing his defensive skills well.

In AFK Journey Brutus is considered an S Tier character inside the Warrior Class & Mauler Faction with 1 AA-range.

Brutus Skills Guide

Ultimate - Whirlwind Wrath

• Unlock at level: 1
• Cooldown: 1.25s
• Range: 1 tile
• Initial Energy: 0

Skill Detail: Brutus spins Mountain's Roar at high speed and deals 110% damage every second to adjacent enemies for 4s. he is immune to control effects while spinning.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 51: Increases damage to 120%.

Unlock at level 111: Brutus is immune to control effects while spinning. This skill's duration stacks with the duration of his other damage immunities.

Unlock at level 171: Increases damage to 130%.

Unlock at level 231: Increases damage to 140%.

1st Skill - Ferocious Roar

• Unlock at level: 11
• Cooldown: 15s
• Range: 1 tile

Skill Detail: Brutus roars with rage, taunting surrounding enemies within 2 tiles for 1.5s and reducing their Phys DEF by 15% for 9s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 71: Reduces surrounding enemies' Phys DEF by 20%.

Unlock at level 131: Reduces surrounding enemies' Phys DEF by 25%.

Unlock at level 191: Reduces surrounding enemies' Phys DEF by 30%.

2nd Skill - Indomitable

• Unlocks at level: 31
• Cooldown: -
• Range: Global
• Can be enhanced

Skill Detail: Brutus is immune to the first fatal blow he receives. He is then immune to all damage and control effects for 5s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 91: Immunity grants 25 Life Drain and 25% ATK.

Unlock at level 151: Immunity grants 35 Life Drain and 35% ATK.

Unlock at level 211: Immunity grants 35 Life Drain and 35% ATK.

Enhancement: The duration of damage and control immunity from Indomitable is increased by 1s.

Hero Focus

You can unlock Hero Focus after reaching Legendary, with a TBD cooldown, and 1 tile range.

Skill Detail: Brutus increases hits life Drain by 10 during battle. He gains an extra 5 Life Drain during his Ultimate.

Level 2: Brutus increases hits life Drain by 13 during battle. He gains an extra 7 Life Drain during his Ultimate.

Level 3: Brutus increases hits life Drain by 16 during battle. He gains an extra 8 Life Drain during his Ultimate.

Ex. Skill - Cleaving Strike

• Unlock: After reaching Mythic
• Cooldown: 0s
• Range: 1 tile

Skill Detail: Brutus cleaves with all his might to enemies within 3 tiles in front after receiving physical damage 10 times from adjacent enemies, dealing 200% damage plus 12% of the target's max HP.

The total damage cannot exceed 750% of his ATK. Brutus also gains 30% Life Drain. This skill can be triggered once every 5s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +5: Brutus deals 230% damage plus 12% of the target's max GP with this skill (the total damage cannot exceed 780% of his ATK).

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +10: Removes the cooldown limit for this skill. Brutus can cast this skill for every 10 physical damage attacks he takes from adjacent enemies.

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +15: Brutus deals 260% damage plus 12% of the target's max GP with this skill (the total damage cannot exceed 780% of his ATK).

Enhance Force

You can unlock Enhance Force after reaching Supreme.

Affect of Skill 2: The duration of damage and control immunity from Indomitable is increased by 1s.

Brutus Pros & Cons

Pros

• Incredible Survivability: Between his "Indomitable" skill and control immunity during his Ultimate, Brutus is extremely difficult to kill, especially when focused.
• Self-Sustain: He has considerable Life Drain on his basic attacks, further increasing his durability.
• Anti-Burst: Brutus can survive and punish burst damage lineups that rely on quickly taking down a key target.
• Disruptive: "Whirlwind Wrath" makes him control immune, and "Ferocious Roar" taunts enemies, disrupting their targeting.
• Damage Potential: While not a primary damage dealer, Brutus's attacks can pack a punch, especially with his Exclusive Skill's added cleave.

Cons

• Low Mobility: Brutus is slow and has no gap-closing skills, making it hard for him to engage by himself.
• Control Susceptible (Outside of Skills): When his Ultimate and "Indomitable" aren't active, Brutus can be easily crowd controlled and kited.
• Reliant on Team: Brutus needs his team to set up fights by bringing the enemy to him or allowing him to get close safely.
• Less Effective Against Spread Damage: His strengths lie in surviving burst damage; sustained, spread-out damage wears him down more easily.
