Vala Tier

Vala is a versatile hero with potent single-target focus and the ability to change roles depending on the situation. She requires careful timing on her mode-switching and protection in melee combat to maximize her burst and disruptive potential.

In AFK Journey Vala is considered an S Tier character inside the Rouge Class & Lightbearer Faction with 7 AA-range.

Vala Skills Guide

Ultimate - Swift Shift

• Unlock at level: 1
• Cooldown: 0s
• Range: Global
• Initial Energy: 0

Skill Detail: When Vala casts the skill at an empty tile, she jumps to the tile and switches to Skyblaster mode. She prioritizes shooting the marked enemy, dealing 450% damage and stunning them for 4s.

When Vala casts the skill at an enemy, she switches to the Sword mode. She rushes to slash the target, dealing 420% true damage. And all her normal attacks become melee attacks.

In Auto Battle Mode, Vala switches to the Sword mode and prioritizes the marked enemy if their HP ratio is lower than 50%. Otherwise, she switches to the Skyblaster mode to shoot the enemy and remains at a safe distance.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 51: In the Skyblaster Mode, Vala deals 20% more damage to enemies with a HP ratio higher than 50%.

Unlock at level 111: In the Sword Mode, Vala deals additional damage to enemies with a HP ratio lower than 50%. Damage dealt equals 10% of the target's lost HP, up to 300% of Vala's ATK.

Unlock at level 171: In the Skyblaster Mode, Vala deals 25% more damage to enemies with a HP ratio higher than 50%.

Unlock at level 111: In the Sword Mode, Vala deals additional damage to enemies with a HP ratio lower than 50%. Damage dealt equals 12% of the target's lost HP, up to 300% of Vala's ATK.

1st Skill - Notice Beforehand

• Unlock at level: 11
• Cooldown: 0s
• Range: Global
• Can be enhanced

Skill Detail: Vala sends a notice to mark the farthest enemy when a battle starts. She attacks the Noticed enemy in priority, absorbing 90 energy for each hit. 

When the Noticed enemy is defeated, Vala sends the Notice Beforehand to the farthest enemy if she is in Skyblaster Mode or to the nearest enemy if she is in Sword mode.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 71: Increases Energy absorbed to 100.

Unlock at level 131: Increases Energy absorbed to 110.

Unlock at level 191: Increases Energy absorbed to 120.

Enhancement: Vala's damage dealt to the marked enemy is increased by 10%.

2nd Skill - Checkmate

• Unlock at level: 31
• Cooldown: 12s
• Range: 7 tiles

Skill Detail: In Skyblaster mode, Vala shoots with an exclusive anesthetic bullet, dealing 230% damage to an enemy and reducing their Haste by 8s. 

In Sword Mode, Vala launches 3 consecutive strikes to an enemy. Each strike deals 100% damage and stuns them for 1s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at level 91: Increases the damage with Skyblater to 240%, Increases the damage with Sword to 105%. 

Unlock at level 151: Increases the damage with Skyblater to 250%, Increases the damage with Sword to 110%. 

Unlock at level 211: Increases the damage with Skyblater to 260%, Increases the damage with Sword to 115%.

Hero Focus

You can unlock Hero Focus after reaching Legendary, with a TBD cooldown, and 1 tile range.

Skill Detail: Vala increases her ATK by 9% during battle. She also gains an extra 3% ATK every time a non-summoned enemy is defeated.

Level 2: Vala increases her ATK by 12% during battle. She also gains an extra 4% ATK every time a non-summoned enemy is defeated.

Level 3: Vala increases her ATK by 15% during battle. She also gains an extra 5% ATK every time a non-summoned enemy is defeated.

Ex. Skill - Night Maneuver

• Unlock: After reaching Mythic
• Cooldown: TBD
• Range: 3 tiles

Skill Detail: When a marked enemy is defeated, Vala hides in the darkness and can only be targeted after all other allies are defeated, increasing her movement speed by 60% and Haste by 80 for 10s.

Upgrade Skill as the following level down below:

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +5: Increases her movement speed by 80% and Haste by 100 under this status.

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +10: Vala restores 40% of her max HP when a marked enemy is defeated.

Unlock at Ex. Weapon +15: Increases her movement speed by 90% and Haste by 120 under this status.

Enhance Force

You can unlock Enhance Force after reaching Supreme.

Affect of Skill 1: Vala damage dealt to the marked enemy is increased by 10%.

Vala Pros & Cons

Pros

• Adaptability: Vala can switch between a ranged attacker (Skyblaster) and a melee assassin (Sword), allowing her to adjust to different situations.
• Target Focus: Her "Notice Beforehand" ensures she consistently pressures a specific enemy and gains energy from them.
