How to Counter Artillery Tank in WARDOGS

In WARDOGS, the SPH-2 also known as Artillery Tank is a track vehicle that can shoot explosion rounds kilometers away from the control zone.

If you are here, you are most likely already got hit by them either when you build a FOB, or when you move around the hot zone.

Those artillery tank players are relentless, they will bombard you with countless rounds if you don’t counter them.

Here are 3 ways that you can do to counter the Artillery tank and stop them from destroying your FOB or killing your teammate in the hot zone.

Method 1: Go Hunt Them

During the early phase of the game, this is what my friends and I usually do when we got bullied by artillery tank.

We spawn at the HQ, grab the RPG launcher loaded with 2 rpgs each, use the free pickup kodiak and set out a journey to find the artillery tank.

Artillery Tanks firing sound is very loud, you can hear them in 1 kilometers proximity. Look at the kill feed and see which color artillery tank that is dominating the map, drive around their route and you will mostly see them on the field or near a dense jungle.

Park 100 meters behind them, aim your RPG to the back and destroy the tank.

Note: You need 3 RPGs to destroy one artillery tank, but you only need 2 MAAWS to blow up one. So if you have MAAWS it is quicker.

This method require you to stay out of the control zone, spend a bit of time to try and locate them via sound, and need you to have decent aim to blow it up.

Method 2: Stingray

Stingray is a drone launching buildable that will shoot up a drone where you can fly around the map.

To operate this drone you need to spend $5000 and 900 spare parts. You also need to build it in the FOB proximity range as well.

This method require you to understand the feel of this drone which is pretty hard for beginner, it take a long time to turn left or right, it has battery so you can’t fly forever looking for the artillery tank forever although the battery last pretty long.

But once you know how to control the drone, it is the best and quickest way that you can use to destroy the artillery tank, it only need one drone to blow up the arty tank.

This method is usually very useful at the early phase of the game as well as at the late phase of the game, you will also make your money back once you blow up the target as well.

Here is how I use this method:

Spawn a ural truck, get a FOB, get 1 build supply pallet and 1 mechanical supply pallet.

Find somewhere far away from your main FOB, place down your FOB, build the stringray, and start hunting.

Try to go as far away from the main FOB as you will attract from bob the builder who think that they need to smash hammer on everything.

And if you’re paranoid that your FOB will get raid, place a bremer wall around it, with one door that you can get in and out, and your drone FOB should be ready to hunt.

Method 3: Rocket Heli

This method is by far the most effective that I’ve seen a lot of players doing, it only applies to those who can fly and it’s easiest for them.

Spawn with a Rocket Heli, flying to where the artillery tank is shelling from and simply destroy them, then fly back to support players in the control zone.

I can’t fly so method 3 is out of the book but if you have a teammate that can fly, the artillery tank is no longer your problem.

Conclusion

In short, If you getting bullied by Artillery tanks don’t just hide and pray that they no longer target you, get a RPG and hunt them, or build a stingray drone to look for them, or grab a rocket heli to quickly blow them up if you know how to fly.
