For the past week of WARDOGS early access I’ve started to see a lot of M249 Humvee spamming in a lot of server and most players seems to have zero clue on how to counter them.
So here are 5 ways to counter Humvee in WARDOGS:
1. Shoot the Gunner
I know I know, it’s currently bug and you get kill even when the gunner don’t look at you, but you can still shot them down, I’ve done it myself, grab yourself an SKS or a mosin, use the 3x Tactical prism scope and aim at their head, if you have the AP ammo, 2 shots to the head is all you need, and 3-4 shots with the regular fmj, just find a good high ground, and shot em down.
2. Shoot the Tire
Humvee usually roam around hot zone, and hot zone move around too, so what’s the best way to stop them from roaming? destroy their tire, unload a mag at the tire and they’ll leave you alone, when they come back, do it again.
Tip: AP Ammo galil one mag will destroy 3 tires easily if you have good aim.
3. C4 the Humvee
Now this part is pretty tricky against good driver or humvee that have friends as their gunner, the driver have third person on but the gunner don’t, so if you shot the tire down and they can’t move, the most logical way to complete destroy it is to sneak next to it and lob 3 C4 on the car and blow them up.
4. Use AP Ammo
The AP ammo is criminally underrated in this game right now, not a lot of players utilizing it, but if you want to easily take them down, get AP ammo of the weapon that you’re using, and simply shoot the driver, the windshield of the humvee is bullet proof to the FMJ but not the AP. Got call a cheater plenty of times when I kill the driver with the SVD AP ammo.
5. Use Launcher
Now I get it, you don’t want to carry the RPG around, it’s too heavy, but this is probably the easiest way to destroy them, it took 3 rpgs to blow the humvee up, and 1 MAAWS, so if you have MAWWS, its mandatory to bring them.
Even if you don’t blow them up, one RPG shot to their humvee is enough to scare them away.
So, if you’re in a situation where you have to face Humvees roaming around you, stop being scared or shot at them with your regular FMJ, shoot their tires, find high ground to shoot their gunner, and if you die, come back with AP Ammo, C4, and launcher to blow them up.
Before I unlock the MAAWS, I was always scared when the Humvees come around, but now I wish more them come around me.
Conclusion
In short, I hope you can use one of these five ways to at least disable the humvee or completely destroy them so that you can enjoy being in the hot zone without having to hide from them.
