Your other Flying troops cost 1 less Gold while Rend is in play (but no less than 2).

Flaming Soul

Cast Living Bomb upon dismounting, damaging nearby enemies.

Legionnaire

Dismount when first taking damage. The Drake continues fighting.

Scale and Steel: Best

Gain Resistant while flying and Armored when dismounted.

This is the best talent for Rend Blackhand, it make the mini more tankier both Flying and dismounts. So it has a higher chance of surviving. 

Best Rend Blackhand Counters

Rend Blackhand is a mini that deal area of effect damage, it's very strong against armored enemy and group spawned enemy.

To counter Rend Blackhand, you need High dps mini like Darkspear Troll, Gargoyle, Drake and Blizzard spell to slow him down, you can also use Defias Bandits to stun him as well.

Tips: You need to disabled him from flying as early as you can, because when dismount Rend become tougher and deal higher damage as well.

Deploy tips: Because Rend deal AoE damage, you need to have a good tank or disabler in front of your DPS, while Tank absorb Rend damage, your DPS can deal damage.
