Chapter 1: Story Walkthrough
The Story Begin way back where a now-corrupted Raiden plans to protect Earthrealm by willing to destroy all its enemies any way he can. In the beginning, you will see a scene where Raiden cut Shinnok head out of his body which triggers Kronika who is Shinnok's mother and keeper of time, to rewrite history in order to stop Raiden's interference. When Raiden found out he makes contact to the Earthrealm and asks for a Speical Forces strike team led by Sonya Blade, Cassie, and Jacqui Briggs to assaults the main cathedral in the Netherrealm, with Raiden providing a diversion to aid them. The team succeeds in destroying the Netherrealm but with a sad outcome of losing Sonya's life. Kronika found out about the fall of Netherealm and wait no longer to help and creates an alliance with Liu Kang and Kitana before her plan of causing temporal anomalies.

Cassie Cage fights against Sonya Blade because it is the rule of the Special Forces before getting promoted to Commander.
Burn Victim
When the mission begins into the Netherealm everything broke lose cause a fight against the Earthrealm army and the Netherealm army and that is where Kabal come up and fight against Cassie Cage.
Killer Queen
When Raiden doing the diversion attack against the Netherealm army. Kitana quickly found out that the Earthrealm army already captured the bone temple and that is where the fight starts between Kitana and Cassie Cage.
Ultimate Sacrifice
After the fight with Kitana, Kung Lao uses his fire ability to block the entrance of General Sonya and start fighting against Cassie Cage. Sonya knows that she's not gonna make it so she ordered Cassie Cage and the army to go back home and finish the operation all by herself.
Chapter 1: Ending Explained
When the detonate set out by Sonya Blade to destroy the Netherealm Cathedral is a success they all then come back to the Earthrealm without her mother. Kronika seeks this opportunity to help Kitana and Kung Lao to bring back the Netherealm and create an alliance with them and tell her plan to them both be willing to reset the history and most importantly without Raiden.
