Legends Balancing (Hitboxes Adjustments & Improvement)

During Season 1 these 3 legends were getting crushed because of their hitboxes size comparing to other legends.

In this patch the dev wanted to try adjusting hitboxes to better fit the character model. For Pathfinder this adjustments fit very well. However, Gibraltar and Caustic only improved slightly with the hitboxes adjustments.

With only slightly change it is not enough to bring Gibraltar and Caustic in line with their small fellow competitors. So in Patch 1.1.1 Gibraltar and Caustic will receive a buff of new perk added to their passve - Fortified

Fortified mean that it reduces damage taken by 10%. This won't be permanent due to dev is observing how they perform with this additional buff and aggressively tune to ensure both legends are viable picks by the end of this process.

The dev also making a few quality of life kit adjustments to ensure marquee abilities are a more impactful and part of thier individual playstyles.

Caustic:

  • Fortified Passive Perk added: reduces damage  taken by 10%
  • Gas Damage per tick increased from 1 to 4
  • Ultimate Throw distance increased from 28 meters to 33 meters

Gibraltar:

  • Fortified Passive Perk added: reduces damage taken by 10%
  • Gun Shield health increased from 50 to 75

Moving into weapons, there are a lot of changes to try to improve the power of long range battle. Leg shot damage got reduce on sniper category weapons, so you're not punished for landing inaccurate shot at long distances.

The dev also reducing general sniper weapon sway and hitting the DMR with a few targeted buffs to make it more viable to engage Legends at range.

Here is a full detailed tweak to all weapons:

  • G7 Scout / Triple Take / Longbow DMR
    • Lowered leg shot damage reduction from 25% to 10%
    • Reduced base weapon sway by about 33%
    • Reduced base sway speed by about 25%
  • Longbow DMR
    • Increased fire rate from 1.2 to 1.6
    • Increased magazine size
      • Base mag increased from 5 to rounds
      • Common mag extender increased from 6 to rounds
      • Rare mag extender increased from 8 to 10 rounds
      • Epic mag extender increased from 10 to 12 rounds
  • Havoc Rifle
    • Increased base magazine size from 25 to 32 rounds
    • Charge Beam
      • Reduced cost per shot from 5 to 4
      • Increased close range damage from 55 to 60
      • Increased damage at range from 45 to 50
      • Close range damage fall off increased from 35m to 75m
      • Ranged damage fall off increased from 75 to 125m
  • Wingman
    • Reduced magazine size
      • Base mag reduced from 6 to rounds
      • Common mag extender reduced from 8 to rounds
      • Rare mag extender reduced from 9 to rounds
      • Epic mag extender reduced from 12 to 10 rounds
  • Spitfire
    • Reduced base damage from 20 to 18
    • Magazine extender attachments reduced
      • Common mag extender reduced from 45 to 40 rounds
      • Rare mag extender reduced from 55 to 45 rounds
      • Epic mag extender reduced from 60 to 55 rounds

Additional Changes & Bug Fixes to Patch 1.1.1 in Apex Legends

Jump Ship Speed change in Apex Legends Patch Notes 1.1.1

  • Jump Ship Speed
    • Increased the speed of ship by about 50%
    • The dev felt that the ship was moving a bit too slow after watching player behavior so we're speeding it up so players that like to drop later in the flight path don't have to wait so long.
  • Bux Fixes
    • Fixes UI bug where the wrong percentage would be displayers for all boost badges.
